At Nelson we do alot of things: Internet Sale, Counter Sales, Local Gun Club Days, and Sales at area gun shows. Guns Shows can be fun and boring. They can be funny and hard work. But they are never void of some characters that always make it fun.
First of all the ATF under-cover guys are alot of fun. First they look for the dealers and see if they can make some deals without they required paper work. It happens at every show and you can spot them a million miles away. It keeps everything on the up and up. So next time you spot one I recommend saying Hi! and tell them they are doing a great job.
The last couple of months I have meet quite a few characters; like: a retired couple that follows guns shows around like the ex Grateful Dead groupies, and Salesman that buys ammo from Wall-Mart and sells it at the show; seriously. I met a Insurance salesman that sleeps in his van that sells chemicals for making fireworks. Many, many young guys carrying AR-15s slug over their shoulders with 20 pound of accessories mounted on them. Guys selling Remington 742s of different calibers that shoot alot of 12 pointers that their guns only jam every few rounds. A knife salesman that dresses up in chain-mail. A few dogs that wander around meeting everyone. Plus every model and make of hunter, business man, right-wingers and left-wingers, farmers, kids, and even a few other of various positions.
So even if you don't hunt or collect firearms I encourage you to go to a Gun Show, they are a great place to people watch.
